BIO
Al Herter is a native New Yorker with academic degrees from Cornell (economics) and New York University (public finance). A private investor for more than 40 years, he always worked for non-profits and public agencies. He retired at age 37 to become Monsieur Maman to his three very young sons. A resident of Paris, Manhattan and San Francisco. He describes himself as a ’Hippie Philanthropist’ trying to make a difference in other peoples lives. He has deep Scottish roots, which are a good place to start as an investor.
Beginning in 2005 at a conference in Paris (www.moneymattersforwomen.org) he has spoken annually in Paris about his decades of experience in the areas of real estate, finance, investing and living BELOW one’s means. He speaks before non-profit groups, and charges nothing for sharing his time and experiences. He last spoke in Paris APRIL 2009 for the benefit of DEMOCRATS ABROAD FRANCE—raising 700E/$1 ,000 for about two hours of his time.

COMMENTS FROM THOSE WHO ATTENDED THE TALK GIVEN SEPT. 2008 IN PARIS FOR BENEFIT OF HANDICAP INTERNATIONAL. AT THE Q.L.I.C. CAFE HOSTED BY DR. JANE GREY.
” It was the perfect discussion for the moment!”
” I really appreciated Al’s very inspiring talk. What was most inspiring was
the man himself and how he thinks, very different to what I imagined. “
” It was not only interesting and helpful but very enjoyable as well (and
for a good cause to boot, what more can one ask for).”
” I really enjoyed the evening!”
” Apart from it being very informative, I found Al to be really inspiring.
I loved his honest and straightforward manner.”
” Thanks for introducing us to Al Herter and for organizing the entire
evening. I was impressed. We were pretty wired after his talk. I enjoyed his
presentation, his style and message.”
“It was a great evening and helped unblock stuff for me. Al is terrific.”

Met you a few years ago at the WICE Money Matters for Women conference and sorry I missed the scheduled “reunion” that September, but things happened and I couldn’t make it. I’m glad to have found your blog. Looking forward to seeing you again.
Bonjour, Albert comment ca va? It was so very “serendipitous” to meet you in New York this past Christmas holiday! Myles and I truly enjoyed our conversations, coffee, viewing the “Man Ray” exhibit at the Jewish Art Museum, and meeting your son Albert…thank you, again!!! We look forward to our ongoing relationship with you when we relocate to NYC! It was also fun to just speak with you on the phone, enjoy your “Thursday night date”. We love your Paris digs…we will put May 8th on the calendar for the Paris soiree! BE Blessed!!! Morgan & Myles (he says hi!)
